National Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Fashion Shoot

30 Jun

We have had an absolutely incredible week! Yesterday we were shooting couture pink gowns, created by some of Australia’s top fashion designers. What a treat! And it was all for an amazing cause: they’ll be auctioned off in September to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Imagine winning the auction… you get a gorgeous gown and you know that your money is going towards research and the prevention of breast cancer. What a beautiful gift – both to yourself and to the world. So here’s a sneaky little peak behind-the-scenes…

Paula Hibbard from The Art of Hair perfects soft bombshell hair, while Julie Elton Makeup Artist creates dewy skin and lush lashes

We added blonde sew-in extensions to model Annie's hair for long, flowing curls

Model Annie McGinty, from Vivien's Model Management was our perfect glamazon for the day

Stylist Kimberlee Kessler and Julie Elton review the stunning jewellery from Swarovski and Autore

Makeup Artist Julie Elton created full thick luscious lashes using mascara and individual false lashes

Finding the perfect pink lipstick was a bit of a challenge, but we nailed it

Annie is resplendent in a custom made gown by Kirrily Johnston

Lisa Ho's poppy pink creation is flowing and feminine

Testing the light to get it perfect for Carla Zampatti's gorgeous oyster pink gown

A little peek at Trelise Cooper's incredible blush pink beaded fishtail gown

We review the day's shots so far with Photographer Justin Aveling

Happy and hard working Stylists (right) Kimberlee Kessler and (left) Rosemary Slade (yours truly!)

Annie, in a Trelise Cooper headpiece, is our perfect bride for the day

Special thanks to Libby Hayes and her team at the National Breast Cancer Foundation for being a constant inspiration.

And of course, our deepest gratitude to Eleanor Marr and the amazing team at David Jones for all their help in making this shoot possible, and to all the wonderful designers who created these pink masterpieces – Akira, Bianca Spender, Carla Zampatti, Easton Pearson, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho and Trelise Cooper.

We had dreamt and hoped, but this shoot exceeded even our most magical musings, and we must thank all the incredibly talented people who so generously donated their valuable time for a great cause:
Photographer: Justin Aveling
Hair: Paula Hibbard for The Art of Hair
Makeup: Julie Elton with MAC

Shot at Sun Studios, Alexandria (whom we thank for discounting the studio fees for this special shoot)
Model: Annie McGinty, Vivien’s Model Management

Our soundtrack for the day included: The Beatles Here Comes The Sun, Madonna Vogue, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool The Key, Destiny’s Child Jumpin Jumpin, Massive Attack Teardrop and Lady Gaga Poker Face.

We can’t wait to share the full shoot with you.
Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek,

Rosemary xox
